California Cafe is closing and its restaurant equipment, furniture and decorations will be auctioned off on Monday, July 18.
The activity will be conducted by Harrisburg auctioneer Mark Baranowski whose firm likewise handled Carlisle’s Empire Restaurant and the Carlisle Sport’s Tavern equipment and furniture sale.
Expect California Cafe to sell commercial restaurant cooking equipment, refrigeration and small wares for all types of food service like a walk-in cooler, exhaust hood, espresso machine and furniture, hardwood tables and chairs made in England.
California Cafe closed business last June 12. A sad day considering it has been open since 1984 along South Hanover Street, and later on, at West Pomfret Street, and finally at the former Empire, Hook and Ladder firehouse.
Current owner, Greg Clark and Darlene Seitz says that cafe is closing due to the bad economy.
