Sunset at Sunday night is the start of the holiest month for Muslims. Ramadan is the time for prayers, fasting, community gatherings and charity in the Islam faith.
During Sunday night, Muslims around the world went to Mosques for their worship and will do so for the next days until all 30 chapters have been read.
But what Ramadan is most known for is the daily fasting activity of its followers, which starts just before sunrise, until sunset. Not only food, but abstinence from water is also encouraged.
Short to say, Ramadan has always been a special and sacred time for Muslims all over the world. It is when family, friends and faith take priority.
