After the popularity of the term smartphones, it seems marketers are now prepping for the next stage of mobile technology as they try to launch the next generation superphones.
What are superphones? They’re the latest models of smartphones that have larger and better screens, but more importantly, faster processors – thus making it super aside from being smart.
Included in this category is the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Sensation, which many are fondly calling the Samsung and the HTC superphone respectively. The rumored iPhone 5 is likewise going to be Apple’s first superphone.
So is this is a marketing and branding jargon, or do you really think they deserve to be called super rather than just smart? We couldn’t care less of the answer because we know, we’ll eventually all be buying one of those superphones soon.
