The local equities market climbed yesterday after the US government ended its shutdown and agreed to raise its debt ceiling for a few more months. The PSEi gained 77.31 points, or +1.19%, to close at 6,560.88.
All sectoral indices ended in positive territory, led by mining and oil (+1.79%), property (+1.44%), and holding firms (+1.40%). Market breadth was positive with 96 advances outnumbering 57 declines, while 37 stocks remained unchanged.
Total value turnover was at Php8.25 billion. Foreign investors were net buyers at Php0.14 billion.
