The Artist Leads Oscars Nominations

The silent film, The Artist, which is set in the 1920’s has gathered the most nominations in the recently concluded announcement for the Academy Awards this year. It has been nominated for best picture, director, actor and supporting actress and many others.

Many say that the nominations, which has as much a surprise as seeing a doctor wearing medical scrubs demonstrates that the film industry is slowing down in momentum with relatively unknown and less commercially acclaimed films.

Nevertheless, as the nominations get out, analysts say that many consumers might just go out and see a movie, even if just to see if these films deserve the accolade they have received.
