US Celebrates Record Store Day 2011

The annual Record Store Day is scheduled to happen this April 16, 2011. This yearly event celebrates the music and history of vinyl records and record shops across the US.

If you’re a music record fan, then we suggest that you get to your favorite record store early because the collectible stuff gets bought quickly.

For Record Store Day 2011, it’s Ozzy Osbourne who has been assigned as the Official Ambassador. And in Seattle, the Experience Music Project will be holding an exhibit called Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses.

Other music acts such as Panda Bear will be releasing his fourth studio album entitled Tomboy and The Flaming Lips will launch a new box-set collection album entitled, Heady Nuggs: The First 5 Warner Bros. Records 1992 – 2002.

Moreover, Sugar Hill Records will sell three Nickel Creek titles in deluxe vinyl, while The Rolling Stones is set to launch a limited edition 7-inch record of Brown Sugar.

Other artists who will be releasing new albums and titles in vinyl are Phish, Gorillaz, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and many others.
